About Us
Who ICVR is, what we stand for, and who we have accredited.
Brief
ICVR stands for International Certificate Verification Registry (Scotland) — an independent accreditation body established to operate an accreditation structure and promote quality through its own Memorandum of Association and Rules & Regulations.
ICVR was established in Scotland, UK to provide accreditation to deliver on four goals relating to Integrity and Confidence, Trade Support, Linkages, and International Acceptance.
Accreditation facilitates international reputation by way of establishing equivalence and global acceptance of certification, inspection and testing being undertaken by various conformity assessment bodies, in areas of quality, environment, food safety etc.
ICVR aims at promoting quality by enabling manufacturers and suppliers of goods/services to apply quality standards and tools and simultaneously empowering consumers to demand quality goods/services. The promotion of quality encompasses all segments including manufacturing, health, education and public services.
What do we do?
ICVR accredits conformity assessment bodies and training organizations and also administers an auditor registration scheme. ICVR does not perform certification.
ICVR accepts applications from conformity assessment bodies operating anywhere in the world. The accreditation programme is accessible to all conformity assessment bodies, irrespective of size, location or affiliations. Programmes include: Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001), Food Safety Management System (ISO 22000), Information Security Management System (ISO 27001), Educational Organizations Management System (ISO 21001), Occupational Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001), Energy Management System (ISO 50001), Product Certification, Personal Certification and Inspection.
In ICVR, the Secretariat is responsible for administering the accreditation process, coordinating the technical committees associated with the accreditation programme and the development of new accreditation programmes.
ICVR is a legally registered entity within the United Kingdom but is not authorized by the UK Government; encouragement, support, approval or licence of any Department of State of the Government of the United Kingdom or of the European Commission or any other statutory or government office should not be inferred. FAQ’s
1. How long will it take my company to become ICVR accredited?
The exact time frames between formal application and grant of accreditation are very much dependent on the client’s compliance with requirements and its response; normally it will take a maximum of 06 months.
2. What are the most important factors that affect the number of assessors?
The most important factors in determining the number of assessors assigned by ICVR to perform an assessment are the size and breadth of the proposed scope of accreditation.
3. Our organization intends to apply for personal certification in the next several weeks. When should we enroll?
Organizations that intend to apply in the near future should enroll in available personal certification programs as soon as possible. ICVR requires at least one PT activity prior to accreditation to demonstrate competency. It can take several weeks before a PT program can include you on the sample distribution list and this could delay your final accreditation.
4. Where can we market ISO certifications?
ISO certification has a huge market. You can market to schools, institutes, hospitals, manufacturing & servicing industries, government bodies, and others.
